Group meeting - Number 2

Today our group has met up outside of lesson again to discuss different elements of our video.

The most important thing that we have got out of today is that we have finally got a clear narrative for our music video. We have decided to go with the stalking idea, but instead of having the whole band stalk her, we will just be having the lead singer. However, he is going to be a human statue in the narrative element of our video. We have also decided to have a light hearted ending with it turning out that the statue was just trying to return an item to the woman. We have also discussed a darker ending where we then see him do the same thing to another girl.

We have finalised the cast for our music video, so we know who is going to appear in the video. We have to make sure that they are free when we are filming though.

We have a list of props that we are going to need by the time we start filming. The list includes a cheap suit, hat, purse and make up for the human statue.

We have decided that we will be filming in London and some side streets around essex. Where London is a big place, we will try to use the same streets every day we are filming, but if we can not find the exact street again we will have to find one identical.

Group meeting - Number 1

Today the group has got together outside of lesson so we could discuss the narrative of our music video. We have talked about our narrative but we still don't have a clear idea on what it exactly is going to be. We have decided on the stalker idea as a starting point.

We also talked about the cast and potential people for us to get for the video. We all have different people to ask if they will be available for when we film. Thing's to consider are their availability and if the are good performers, because it is one thing to be able to play an instrument, but they are pretty unusable if we can not get a good performance.

We discussed if we would be following and using other folk rock videos for inspiration for our video or if we would be using different areas of different types of rock videos, because we found that not many folk rock videos have strong narrative elements, which is going to be a big part of our video.

Friday 7 December 2012

This is a mock up of what i want my digipack to look like. I have decided to go with a "classy" look, because i think it fits the mood of the song.

I used the website "PicMonkey" to create this mockup. The first picture i used, i had to crop it down so that there were just 3 people in the picture, i then had to adjust the colour's Saturation all the way down from 0 to -100 and the images temperature all the way to 100, this gave the image the black and white effect. I added the text on afterwards using the font "Tall dark and handsome"

Planning the narrative - 2 Collumn storyboard

To help plan the narrative for our music video, we have decided to use a 2 Column storyboard. This is a much simpler way of planning out the narrative, because we can just write exactly what we want in the shot and don't have to worry about drawing a detailed picture to get the narrative across.

Our 2 week plan

To make sure that we had enough time to get everything that we need to get done, we have created a 2 week plan that we all know so there will be no errors in communication that will lead to us not getting something done. This is the plan.

Day 1 - Friday the 7th

  • Establish the narrative
  • Gain a cast
  • organise any props and costumes needed
  • Create a storyboard.

Day 2 - Saturday the 8th

  • Establish possible locations

Day 3 - Sunday the 9th

  • Finish storyboard
Day 4 - Monday the 10th
  • First day of filming
